Pulled Pork Deep Dish Pizza

My brother-in-law got his first smoker this past weekend, an 18.5″ Weber Smokey Mountain, so naturally we took her on her maiden voyage with a Boston butt and some baby backs 🙂  He sent me home with some of the left over pulled pork, so I decided to cook a pulled pork deep dish pizza on my Weber kettle.  The process I used to make this pizza is basically the same as the applewood smoked deep dish pizza I posted on a while back, just with some different ingredients that I’ve provided below.  The key thing with this pizza is to use a sweet BBQ sauce.  I figured it probably wouldn’t have tasted as good if I used a spicier sauce. I cooked it on my 26.75″ Weber One Touch Gold kettle and threw a couple small pieces of applewood on top of the coal bed for a little smokey goodness.  I’ve got the video posted below walking you through the entire process.  My wife helped with this one too so it was a lot of fun 🙂

Ingredients

Pizza dough
Sweet BBQ sauce (i usually like to make my own BBQ sauces, but in this case I just used Sweet Baby Ray’s and would def recommend it for a pizza like this)
1/2 of a medium size sweet onion (i sauteed the onions first so they would be nice and caramelized)
1/2 of a green bell pepper, chopped up (saute these with the onions)
5-6 slices provolone cheese
1/2 – 1 bag of mozzarella (it’s up to your how much you use here, but I tend to use a LOT!)
Small can of pineapple (i used the smaller ones that are sometimes referred to as “tidbits”.  you could also use the larger “chunks” if you wanted to…)
Dash of oregano and basil (or other herbs of your choice)
Corn meal
1/2 tbsp vegetable or olive oil
