This week I had the chance to review the Burger Pocket Press. The Burger Pocket Press is a 4-piece kit that is made of Food Grade ABS Plastic, it’s dishwasher safe and made here in the U.S. It’s popular for its ability to make perfectly sealed, stuffed burgers, but you can also use the kit to make “cup” burgers or simply as a device to form perfect 4″ patties from 1/4″ – 3/4″ thick.
I’ve attempted making stuffed burgers myself several times in the past, but it’s always a bit frustrating trying to form out the patties and get the toppings stuffed in correctly and then seal it all up. The Burger Pocket Press made this process a breeze and after practicing a couple times, I was easily able to put one together in less than 2 minutes. To test this device out, I chose to make apple & brie stuff burgers. They came out really, really good.
A couple quick points to note: the plastics of the 4 pieces felt nice and sturdy and the handles of the flat press and pocket press also provided plenty of grip and didn’t feel flimsy whatsoever (you can see that in the video below). Also, there is very little cleanup involved and though though they are dishwasher safe, it was easier to just quickly wash them by hand.

Top left is the bowl, top right is the ring, bottom left is the pocket press and bottom right is the flat press.
Step 1: 1/3 cup ground beef into the ring then press with the flat press to form the top patty.
Step 2: 1/2 cup ground beef into the bowl then pressed with the pocket press to form the pocket.
Step 3: Add your toppings, fillings, or whatever you want to call them…I used green apple bits and brie.
Step 4: You’ll see this last step better in the video, but place the ring back in with the bowl that has your bottom patty and fillings, then place the top patty on top and press down with the flat press. Voila, a perfectly sealed, stuffed burger patty.
Just off the grill and cut in half revealing the apple and brie.
Stacked high with crisp bacon and grilled onions.
Topped with a little bit of Thousand Island dressing. Eatin’ time!
