One of my favorite things to do is whip up homemade BBQ sauces. The more and more I cook, the more and more sauces I want to try. Right now in my outside fridge, I have about 6 homemade sauces, so you think I would be content. I’m not though and I’m constantly searching out for new ones to try. I think when cooking a lot of BBQ, in order for it to remain fun and exciting, it’s important to keep mixing things up. You don’t necessarily need to change how you cook the actual meat (especially if it comes out good every time!), but I think you should always be experimenting with new sauces, rubs, marinades, etc… We’ve got some good friends coming to stay the weekend with us so of course I’m going to smoke some baby backs 🙂 I’m planning on smoking them with a bit of apple wood so I was searching around for a complementary fruit-based BBQ rib sauce. I came across the following link and was stoked at how many amazing recipes are listed. You may have come across this before, but if not, it’s a great link to bookmark. They’ve got all kinds of tomato-based, vinegar-based, mustard-based and fruit-based BBQ sauces listed. Hope you find something you like. I’ll make a post with the ribs I do this weekend and let you know which sauce I end up going with.
